volunteer opportunities/ programs/ workshops
which also means free experiences and opportunities :)
- lee kong chian natural history museum facebook - volunteer recruitment usually happens yearly. you get some training (though there is a lot of self-learning involved for a beginner like me!), but you get to meet a lot of people rly knowledgeable about plants and animals. you have to do 5 tours a year although this requirement can be relaxed if you give a valid reason. you get to visit the museum for free and also some other really cool activities for free (i've been on an intertidal walk to sister's islands, as well as the science center's dinosaur exhibit with them x2).
- biodiversity friends forum instagram - can sign up for their program which takes place every year (seems like sign ups happen at the end of a year for the next). program includes a workshop teaching about singapore' biodiversity (really cool cuz it's a professor teaching and small group facilitation with rly experienced people in nature spaces, 3 nature walks and accompanying journalling (which is just super worth it imo cuz free nature walks including like intertidal omg). lastly need to do an act of nature.
- deep time walk eventbrite - see this website, or search singapore deep time walk. free and it's where i learnt about the gift economy. learn about ecological history, 4.6 billion years in a 4.6km walk.

i see myself as an adventurer on a journey of exploring the human condition and the world, seeking to understand and appreciate myself, others, and the interconnectedness of it all. at my core, i am drawn to meaningful connections—between ideas, people, and emotions—that feel soulful and essential to the experience of being alive.
i enjoy being in nature 🍃, quiet reflective moments 💭, reading and learning about the world and its connections 📚, community 👷♀️, music and concerts 🎶, and sports like volleyball and basketball.
